COS in the New York Times

2009-01-25 21:50:00

The NY Times talks about, "...the go-to people for book-specific Web sites and videos..."

COSOver the years Circle of Seven Productions has weathered the storm. From its beginnings in 2002 when no one knew what a book trailer was, let alone how to use one, to the challenges of educating publishers, booksellers and readers and the challenge of finding places to play the videos so that people could see them, COS kept moving forward with the idea that book trailers can promote and sell books.

In 2006 we were interviewed by Newsweek and by NPR. COS was the first company to put book video in movie theaters as well as the first to win the much coveted Silver Telly Award for book video. COS has gone on to win over 25 awards in book video, but there's always something special about that first win.

In 2008 COS gained attention in the tech industry for book trailers, distribution and overall success in social media. From Rober Scoble's show with FastCompany to PixelHead's Meet the Experts the CEO of Circle of Seven Productions, Sheila Clover English had made her mark in social media and trendsetting.

Also in 2008 COS was on TVWeek, interviewed again by NPR, featured in the Atlantic City news and The Wall Street Journal.

So, when  the New York Times contacted COS for an interview we were excited to have caught their attention. And we are even more excited to see the NY Times article published   in Jan. 2009!

"It's been 6 years since we started making book trailers," says English, "We've worked hard to make them a staple in book promotion and a household name. I think we've succeeded in that."

The next stop for COS? "Stop?" Says English, "The future never stops. Neither will we. We will continue working on making the videos even more effective in the coming years."
